Making GFB Products
How We Make GFB Products
Great value and top quality
|
It's time we gave you an inside view of how GFB designs and manufacturers its products. We believe that quality starts at home and Australia is our home for design, manufacture and assembly of GFB products. We invite you to take a look at the video below to see how we do what we do at GFB, in-house and in Australia. Oh, and remember, GFB quality is part of our price. |
It starts with designGFB designs all its products in-house and in Australia using CAD software with 3D modelling |

Then we make a prototypeUsing computer aided design means its relatively simple to make prototypes to check each new product at the design stage. Our own rapid prototype printer lets us do just that by sending the design to the machine directly. Its just good engineering really. |

Make sure it all fits and worksWe can't always fit these prototypes to a car but we can assemble them to make sure they all fit together and work as they should. It's also a good time to check the design against the part and make sure the tolerances and dimension are right before we go in to production |

Now lets get it madeBeing an engineering shop, we've got lots of machines that whirr and go bing. That's technical talk for CNC machine centres and other programmable production machines. We try to make all the metal parts for GFB products in-house on our own machines to get the best quality and production control. |

Next, check the qualitySome manufacturers quality process stops at the machine stage, for GFB that's just one step. Our in-house co-ordinate measuring machine (CMM) digitally and automatically inspects the manufactured part and compares it to the design and drawing. The accuracy is often beyond what a human can measure using standard tools. |

Laser engraving finishes it off nicelyMost of our metal parts use laser engraving to etch in the graphics and logo on to our metal parts. Having this machine in-house cut's down the time we need to wait for parts and keeps the quality higher. Have a look at the video to see the sparks fly as it does its thing. |

Finally, assembly. The final step is to assemble and package each kit. We pick the parts from our stock bins then assemble and test them before packaging. Our Australian packaging supplier does a great job with our boxes and we like to use the best quality suppliers we can find. Once packed, it's off to our dealer and you. |
